Risk factors -

  1. Coronary artery disease
  2. Valve disease of the heart
  3. Cardiomyopathy
  4. Congenital Heart Disease
  5. Hypertension
  6. Diabetes
  7. Bad lifestyle habit (Smokin, drinking alcohol)
  8. Inactivity

Clinical Manifestation

  1. Dyspnea
  2. Wheezing
  3. Generalized edema
  4. Weakness and fatigue
  5. Reduce ability to do physical work
  6. Abnormal heart rhythm

Lab diagnostics and tests

  1. Chest x-ray to identify Pulmonary edema(Common symptoms of Heart failure)
  2. Echocardiography identifies the Ejection fraction of the Heart and to see the movement.
  3. B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) blood test
  4. Other blood tests like KFT and Thyroid to confirm there is no other cause
  5. Angiography to identify the cause.

procedure

The main cause of Heart failure is cardiac muscle damage due to the blocked coronary artery.

In this case Angioplasty or Coronary artery bypass grafting can be dione.
