The three things that an organisation’s commitment to creating a working environment that values the diversity of people will include are:

1.Enforcement of diversity acceptance policy and inclusivity.

The company must adopt policy of diversity acceptance and inclusivity and create awareness about the same.The company must employ diverse workforce and have a fair recruitment process accepting workforce diversity,The employment process should be totally nonbiased, talent and skill-based. Every employee irrespective of his race, religion gender ,cultural background, sexual orientation,country of origin or physical status should feel respected and valued in the organization.It is important for the managerial leaders to be vigilant about the adoption of the policy at the daily working level.

2. Creation of a warm and welcoming work environment by provision of space and means for people of diverse backgrounds to express their diverse needs comfortably at the workplace

For example, an organization with diverse workforce makes provision of space for the muslims to offer namaz/ prayers ,provision of private space for breastfeeding working mothers,suitable restroom provision for differently abled .All these indicate valuing of diversity by the organization.

3. Elimination of bias in promotions and career advancement opportunities.

The organisation must ensure strict no bias, anti-discriminatory policy for the promotions ,work opportunities amongst its diverse workforce. There must be no favoritism/discrimination of a particular group.

By adopting diversity acceptance policy, anti discriminatory policy, with provision of spaces for free expression of diverse needs amongst its work force; an organisation demonstrates its commitment to valuing the diverse workforce.
