In 300 words, provide a reflection elder abuse and possible interventions to stop Elder Abuse. What are the reporting laws in CT regarding suspected elder abuse cases?
Hello !
Elder abuse is something very shameful and everyone has to be ashamed of it .Basically when you see a older adult being shouted at or being homeless , beaten up or not given food etc you should straight up know it is elder abuse or that particular person you see suffering is being abused .Not giving importance or not providing with basic needs and beating or scolding or making them homeless is not acceptable at least for me personally considering parents who do so much for their children when they are younger and not being able to get atleast receive 5% of the care they gave their kids or grandkids is sad.
According to me Elder abuse can be stopped if the government can intervene a little and provide provisons for the older adults where there can be free from the dependence of any other individual and also there should be laws that can make sure that things like elder abuse are prevented and also personally it is the younger adults who should know and make up their minds to not do shameful things like this.
A few laws include; Elder Justice Act of 2009 ,The Older Americans Act, Violence against women Act,The Enhanced Training and Services to End Violence and Abuse of Women Later in Life Program,Elder Abuse Victims Act of 2009,These are a few reporting laws for abuse of older adults and honestly many of these laws do not function the way it has to and we can only hope for such things to get better.
Thankyou ,hope this helped!
