Do relativism and subjectivism generate contradictions? Why might someone accuse the theories of doing so? How could a relativist or subjectivist respond?
Relativism is a philosophical position where all the said or narrated points are valid& all the truth is relative to the person . this states that ALL moral position, , political movements , art , scientific & religious systems etc are truths & which are relative to the individual.Relativism is an illusionary belief , its view is internally incoherent & logically incosistent.
While subjectivism is a philosophical position where there is no truth outside of one,s experience.dertermining good & evil must happen on situation , ie case - by- case basis. its true that we all have subjective understanding & experience, on the other hand, on same situation individual thought , preception& feeing are different from each other .
Generation of contradiction : to discuss on ethical subjectivism , it says that all truth are dependent on the opinions & not on the feelings for making subjective moral judgement here we take an example that : some belive that torturing child on small things is wrong while others belive that torturing children on small things is right .
Some one might accuse the theories because in both the theories one cannot come out with a perfect conclusion & take a concrete decision
As it seems the theory of subjectivist or relativist both generate contradictions , how can one respond to the critcism
