Use the Conflict Lens Model to explain an organizational conflict you either experienced firsthand or witnessed. Include some of the Lens' scale in your response as you describe the behaviors of the conflict participants.

Conflict lens model is used to identify the different behaviors of a person in different situations of conflict. it depicts the specific attitude of a person in conflict which finally dictates the outcome of the conflict situation in life. It depends upon the belief that dealing with conflict is a complex process which depends upon the outcome and the factors causing the emergence of the conflict situation in life. It can take place in various situations like conflict between boss, peer, subordinates in life. There are 11 features under this model as follows:

  • Affilate and alienate model.
  • Analyze and intuition model.
  • Compromise and standard firm.
  • control and comply.
  • empathize and egoize model.
  • Engage and avoid model.
  • Own and blame model.
  • Seek support and ego model.
  • Self-restraint and Emote model.
  • Trust and distrust model.
  • Constructive outcome is a positive outcome in life where a person holds responsibility for the work done, is confident and shares, opinions with others, is interaction and helpful towards colleagues in life.
  • Destructive outcome leads to argument in life, with loss of money and damage to life.
  • The example includes the manufacturing of chemicals by Chemico company in various countries of Europe. The first hand conflict resolution includes the analysis of the work site and home site with manufacturing of the chemical in correct proportions and mixtures. There are various deals and partnerships of this firm with other countries which are involved in the manufacturing control of the chemical material. There were various rounds of open interview sessions in which various employees were asked about their experiance of working at different working sites of the company in different regions of the country. The disagreement and conflict resolution at working at different sites was analyzed in a statistical survey. The views of participants is analyzed on a scaling index of like or dislike. The various behavioral dimensions and features are analyzed on a scale of -30- +30 range.Cultural history with analysis of ethnic community and race is important as it leads to the work behavior with racial bias and discrimination in some circumstances as compared to the others in the society.
  • Interpersonal conflicts arise in life when there is a scare availability of resources in life with unachievable goals and opposing viewpoints in life. The 10 strategies of conflict can be analyzed as discussed in detail. The important example is domestic conflict in life.
