An open-ended question's objective is a get a general feel of what a candidate's opinion on a specific question or a topic lies. One feature that clearly sets an open ended question apart from a close ended question is that an open ended question does not seek a definitive yes or a no answer from its intended audience or a candidate.

Close ended ordered question
A close ended question's objective is to obtain precise data either via a yes or no response or a response that provides tangible data. A close ended ordered question, on the other hand, is a question that seeks to lead the interviewer and the candidate through a specific set of questions that follow a logical path or route in order to obtain data about a specific topic.
For Eg: Let's assume that. we're still interviewing the candidate about his or her interest in sports. Here's how we would frame close ended ordered questions.
The question below is a set or a series of questions that lead the interviewer to a specific set of answers. The below close ended ordered questions will help the interviewer understand whether or not their candidate enjoys playing sports and will also help him or her understand the type of sports that the candidate plays. Close ended Likert scale questions
Close ended likert questions quantify a candidate's response through a predetermined rating system.

Close ended semantic differential questions offer the candidate options with specific verbal descriptions or adjectives in order to accurately describe or capture qualitative data on the candidates interest.

Partially close ended questions
