The whole food market was the biggest organic and natural food retailer in the world. The company is known for its team-based operations and employee-oriented work culture. The whole food market was centered on the company's grassroots level management which helps to eliminate bureaucracy.

A high amount of decentralization also allowed the company to tailor its operation to meet the requirement of local communities. An example of high decentralization is at the whole food market was the hiring vote which empowered the existing team members to choose the new recruits to their teams. They also disclose large amounts of financial information to the employees and team leader so as to encourage them and motives them to participate decision of the company. This helped to create a culture that leads to competitive advantage of the company.

The company even calls its mission statement a "Declaration of Independence" claiming that the whole food market is first and foremost a community of people working together to create value for other people. The team focus is so strong that the company allows the team to select who gets to join their team.

Swot analysis of whole food market-

1)Strength- The whole food market has a strong brand image, which is a strength that attracts customers in its store. The company has a high-quality standard for its product. The firm has a highly motivated workspace because of the whole food market organization culture. It helps to maximize productivity and support a competitive advantage.

2)Weakness- Dependance mainly on the U.S market. The vast majority of the company's locations are in America. This weakness makes the whole food market less attractive to price-conscious or price-sensitive consumers who would rather buy cheaper products.

Yes, employees are motivated, because the company always involves each member of the team in the company's decision which keeps the employees engage. Some benefits like physical health, mental health helps the employees to feel self belonging.

Some of the theories apply in this covid-19 are Maslow theory, pink's motivational theory, Herzberg theory.
