There is a great deal of talk about the liberal bias of the media in American politics. To what extent is the media liberal? To what extent, do you think, it is biased? Considering the growing importance of conservative talk and news enclaves that support conservative causes, describe the ways in which discussions of a liberal bias in the media might be qualified? What other factors might mitigate the liberalism of the media?
Media in America has got more freedom than in any other country in the world because of the first amendment that prevents governments from intervening in the dissemination of information and news. The problem is that almost all the media support whichever ideology that they support and besides that, all the political parties have their own news media. So, if we look at the same news in two different newspapers, they will have huge gap and they both would have published the same news in a different way. Some may support conservatives while others support liberals thus the authenticity of the news become more questionable.
There is also growing support to conservatives because of the growing nationalism on the basis of race. The economic downturn, growing immigrant issues, raising unemployment etc. are few reasons why conservatism is supported by most of the media now-a-days.
The growing tolerance in terms of accepting everyone as one race, growing business opportunities, attracting skills from all over the world etc. have made others support liberalism. People who are open welcome the changing societal trends and cultural trends.
