As a vice president of a financial services company, you serve many clients, and they sometimes ask your company to contribute to their favorite charities. You recently received a letter from Elliana Larios asking for a substantial contribution to the National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association. On visits to your office, she has told you about its programs to recruit, train, and support volunteers in their work with abused children. She herself is active in your town as a CASA volunteer, helping neglected children find safe, permanent homes. She told you that children with CASA volunteers are more likely to be adopted and are less likely to reenter the child welfare system.

You have a soft spot in your heart for children and especially for those who are mistreated. You sincerely want to support CASA and its good work. But times are tough, and you can't be as generous as you have been in the past. Ms. Larios wrote a special letter to you asking you to become a Key contributor, with a pledge of $ 2,000.

YOUR TASK Write a refusal letter that maintains good relations with your client. Address it to Ms. Elliana Larios, 8569 East 39th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85730.

AZ 85730.

Dear Ms. Elliana,

This letter is in response to your charity letter of appeal sent to us by your organization. We acknowledge your kind consideration for providing us with the opportunity to fund the National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association

We agree that this is a very good cause, but unfortunately, we will not be able to help this year. With the downturn in the economy, our company, like so many others, has had to rationalize our corporate giving, and we have already reached our limits for this fiscal year. Also, the resources of our company have been used to aid the victims of the recent earthquake at Brazil. Hence, the funds are depleted.

We highly value the work done by you and believe that your work shall prove to be fruitful for the community welfare. However, it is with deep regret that we will not be able to help you. Sadly, our organization is also over-committed to charitable donations to other organizations this year. Therefore, we will not be able to assist you in your cause.

We would like to be in contact with your organization for possible future donations. If you will contact us before the end of February of next year, we will be in a better position to consider your application. Meanwhile, accept our sincere apologies.

We wish you every success in your initiative and efforts.

Yours sincerely,

Name

Vice President
