Compare and contrast impulsive, unplanned, and compulsive shopping behaviors.
Impulsive shopping behaviour refers to people making buying decisions on the spot which was not in their buying list when they entered the shop. This would mean that at times people might just remember something which is not available or they would be influenced by the sales people in the shop to purchase an item which would add value. These decisions would also be impacted by other consumers who buy certain items as they would indirectly influence them.
Unplanned shopping behaviour is one in which people would start for shopping without even knowing what they would buy or where they would go. They make this decision because they might have felt bored or that they do not have anything else to do. At times, people would postpone their shopping decisions and would suddenly remember that they would need something in the nearest future or at that point in time thus would decide to go.
Compulsory shopping behaviour is more problematic and it could be considered as an addiction because people would go for shopping and buy items that they no longer need. It’s like their eating habit in which they would eat something at a particular time. At times, they would go for shopping in order to show off to others about the items they have in their possession.
