Define Pick-Density and suggest three ways to improve it?
The pick density is the number of picks achieved per unit of area on the pick face. This is highly utilized in the supply chain formats especially in a store of multiple goods of various sizes and prices to be picked up for a single consumer needs. The SKU density here represents the number of pickups in one place for the warehouse which helps the increase of the pick density. If an area has more SKUs the pick density is higher thus reduce the labor cost for the supplier.
The three ways of improving the Pick density are:
· The SKU density makes the pick density more which enhance the value and reduce the cost of manpower as the time and speed in such case is increased.
· The technology guide is best to enhance the pick density as it best plots the ways that the employee needs to enhance the pick density.
· The number of items picked together at one go is higher so it is a good way to enhance the pick density is.
