The magnitude of humanitarian emergencies over the last decade has challenged the normal mode of disaster response round the world. When an emergency is caused by a weather-related event, most likely supply chains are broken, putting those in need in the most vulnerable position. With climate-related humanitarian crises on the increase and therefore the warnings of irreversible climate-change effects on the planet , solutions at scale involving public-private partnerships are vital.
Approximately 73% of humanitarian response spending is said to provide chain, and with the worth for climate-related humanitarian response estimated to succeed in $20 billion annually by 2030, public-private partnerships such as the Logistics Emergency Teams (LET) become critical within the face of humanitarian disaster relief and preparedness.
The LET companies don't take their participation during this public-private partnership lightly. After all, most of the LET companies operate within the regions and countries where these disasters occur, and by working together, we will bring resources to form a true difference. One public or private entity cannot do that alone; it's only with the combined efforts of strategic public-private partnerships just like the LET that we will address the growing number of humanitarian emergencies around the world.
The LET welcomes new members who are committed to the present mission and who have the will to foster public-private partnership that enhance humanitarian emergencies’ preparedness, response and recovery during a time of need.
