explain the water footprint consumptions in Oman and consumers behavior
Water footprint is the measure of direct and virtual consumption of water. Here the direct consumption means using water from water bodies like ground water, lakes, rain water,e. t. c. and vitual consumption means the water footprint of all the goods and services consumed by person or group.
In Oman people consume so much of ground. There is an extensive use of groundwater for all purposes. That's why their water table went down. Ground water is used for domestic purposes, industrial uses etc. Because of this the sea water quality also got affected there.
Oman also produces high quality agricultural goods and highest quality products which are used to exported to other Gulf countries. For this water consumption is highly needed and due to this the salinity of the water incresed.
Consumer behavior is the study of when ,why and where people buy or do not buy a product.
Consumers in Oman are strongly ethnocentric. Majority of the people there prefer local products.
87.6% of the consumers strongly support the 'Origin Oman' and 'Buy local' campaigns.
Consumers think that buying local products would create job opportunities for them and also increase their country's economy.
They also thinks that their agriculture industry must be more competitive.
