Complete the following questions about plant transpiration.
1.In vascular plants we can sayTranspiration is the evaporation process occurring to the water which is held in the leaves and stems of plants. And in transpiration, the water travels through the soil into the roots of plants, and up to the underside of plant leaves, where it is then released into the air. This is how the transpiration occurs in vascular plants.
2.plants absorb more rapidly in the presence of light more light more will be the transpiration.
Plants transpire more rapidly at very high temperatures because water evaporates more rapidly as the temperature rises.so increase in the temperature causes higher transpiration
Other factors include
3.when it comes to wind. Wind increases transpiration rate of all plants the most. Other than this the wind, heat is another factor that increases the rate of transpiration high.Higher temperature would cause water molecules to move faster; resulting in increase of rate of transpiration.
4.This is because the metabolic rate of the plant equal to plants with a higher metabolism have a higher transpiration rate. And the amount of water in the soil - plants that have the access to more soil water will transpire at a higher rate than those which don't.This is the reason species of plants have different transpiration rates.
5.When we apply with petrolium jelly
If we coated the leaves of a plant with petroleum the process of transpiration will be stopped. The stomata will be covered, and that will stop the plant from losing water, resulting in the wilting or death of the plant.Transpiration won't take place in these plants.
6.for plants Losing water through transpiration allows the plants to draw more water from the roots which equals to more nutrients being drawn up.Thus this is very important for plants.
