- There is general belief that supernatural forces , evil spirit or even God causes the mental illness .
- This belief has made nigerian mentally ill.
- Historically the people with mental illness were hanged or burned and that social attitude made more worsen the attitude of society .
- This soietial attitude lead more the mental illness belief worst .
- Also there is lack of medical facility to treat the mental illness due to financial codition . And some traditional unknowingly people prolong the the illness due to lack of education and standardization of their treatment .
