Abstract:

Like other fields in nursing, the mental health nursing have also adopted means to implement evidenced based practice in mental health. One of the key practice is the use of therapeutic interpersonal communication to foster psychological growth, mutual trust and cooperation among the psychiatric patients. This article places an argument regarding therapeutic relationship and biological therapy which uses evidence based practice to establish themselves. Every nursing intervention should be supported by an evidence that will reflect its effectiveness. When health care providers associated with mental health nursing uses best evidence based practice available, the client receives best possible care. It has focussed on development of interpersonal realtionships to foster growth. The intervention focus on development of a safety net of interpersonal relationships. Inorder to apply this therapeutic relationship the nursing strategies must be evaluated

Conclusion: The use of evidence based practice of therapeutic interpersonal relationship while managing psychiatric patients will foster a positive health outcome. It will not only develop trust and understanding between the client and health providers but also will improve the standard of care rendered to them.
