employees behaviour in an organization. It comprehends that how an
employee behaves and act in the workplace. It helps us develop an
understanding of the aspects that can motivate employees, increase
their performance and establish a strong relationship within the
workplace.
Discrimination is a challenge to OB:
- There are varieties of discrimination that caused a challenge
to organisational behaviour like no equal employment opportunity
between men and women, harassing behaviour can come from superior,
co-worker, client, discrimination on the basis of colour, caste,
religion, age, disability, sex etc.
- denial of training opportunities, transfers and promotion.
- Sexual harassment. now all the above challenges it reduces the
productivity of an organisation. it affects an employee he/she
starts absenting from the work by consuming more
leaves. employees who are the victim of discrimination
at work might also have trouble interacting with their
co-workers, Victims of workplace discrimination
suffered from emotional distress that increase their stress and
anxiety levels which affects their health and ultimately leads to
unproductive work at a workplace.
Workplace discrimination undermines organizational effectiveness
in the following ways:
- Although diversity gives an opportunity in an organisation if
it leads to unfair discrimination then it starts giving
unproductive results.
- if the particular manager following or allowing his behaviour
towards stereotypes this is judging someone on the basis of
perception then it leads to discrimination.
