Employee motivation refers to boosting the morale of employees to work harder to achieve the goals assigned to them. There are various needs and expectations that are to be taken into account when considering the motivation of people at work. Some of them are mentioned below –
· Monetary rewards – In order to motivate the employees at work their needs are to be fulfilled. They need and expect monetary rewards like salaries, bonuses, incentives, etc to get motivated to work more hard towards the attainment of goals.
· Recognitions – Not only monetary rewards but with some kind of people, recognition also act as motivating factor. Recognising employees performance, giving certificates of appreciations, promotions, etc are also the needs or expectations of few employees to get motivated to perform better.
· Job security and safety – Every employee expects the job security and safe working environment. If they feel secure at workplace they will work their happily and with good motivation.
