How do algorithm-driven policies and practices facilitate the administration of justice?
Algorithm-driven policies are good for the administration related work in the justice system because most of the workload is directly handled by the algorithm-based computer systems. An algorithm is a set of pre-determined and pre-coded instructions fed to the computer system which is specially designed to do specific tasks. For example, assignment of the cases based on a number of pending dates before, type of case, the intensity of case, location of the case, and the detail that can be objectified. All this information is digitized and fed to the algorithm-based computer system. Thus, the system works on the basis of a special algorithm to give a date for case hearing, and in some cases, it may automatically assign the charges to the person committing any kind of misfortune act. For example, if a person is caught overspeeding, then the same can be caught by the camera, and the camera footage along with other details can be fed to the algorithm designed which will decide the charges as per the speed of the vehicle. However, it can not take place of the real-time working in the justice system the hundred percent of the time.
