Value-driven health care approach

The Four Corner stone of value driven health care are

  1. Health information technology standards: Use of Electronic health records avoid Duplication of work and to reduce cost.
  2. Quality standards: This requires meeting standarization of performance measures.Every hospital has identified Quality metrics and Montitoring of data like Mortality rates disease wise, morbidity rates, hospital related incidents and errors. These Provides quality framework for any organization.
  3. Price standards: Purchasers wants hifght level of transparency in pricing of hospital and outpatient services. These tools aims to sensitize patients to the cost of their care and to affect more mindful consumption of services such as chhosing the hospital or physician based on quality and net price to consumer
  4. Incentives: Purchasers can facilitate Dissemination and adoption though quality based provider incentives.

These approches are available in tradtional systems of health care delivery system.

Current practices just focus on delivery of care rather than quality of care based on these 4 aspects of value based care. Because of More diseases, more patient load, no transparency in pricing as well as in quality.
