The last assignment for this week is to submit by an attachment the product idea and/or company you wish to use for your Marketing Plan. You can develop a new product idea or you may also develop a plan for an entirely new company that does not exist. I need to approve your idea before you get started on your plan.
If you want to come up with a new product idea, you need to
decide what company might manufacture and distribute this for you.
(For example, you wouldn't tell me you will be coming up with a new
product for Rubbermaid. You would tell me you have come up with a
product that can clean under appliances in the kitchen, and
Rubbermaid will manufacture and distribute it.) Come up
with something new, fun, interesting, or maybe something you've
always wished you had but isn't "out there". You can
also be an entrepreneur and develop a plan for a new business (it
must not currently exist)
The detailed instructions for the Marketing Plan can be found in
weeks 15 & 16. Your marketing plans must be received by
Sunday, May 10th. This week I just need the
product and/or company you will be creating for your marketing
plan. Please email me with any questions and I hope you have fun
with your plan. What you will be writing your plan about needs to
be submitted by April 12th.
Sticky Mosquito Trap
Executive summary
The world's most dangerous animal weighs about two milligrams and pursues its human prey at speeds of barely a mile per hour. Yes we are talking about mosquitos here. That fragile creature, whose bite infects millions with lethal diseases, such as malaria, dengue fever, filariasis, encephalitis etc. Not only do they spread communicable diseases but also hamper a healthy sleep. A human being needs to have 6-8 hours of soundless sleep to work efficiently. Improper sleep patterns can result in Stress Hyper tension and even depression. Due to some ignorance of humans the population mosquitos is speeding up. We are offering the fruitful solution to solve this momentous problem, through our product the world’s first ever Sticky Mosquito Trap machine.
Our product is a specialized product that comes up with unique and inventive designs and features. Furthermore what we do, the complete design and production process is undertaken under the proper guidance of experts. They emit a special colour that attracts the mosquitoes when it comes in contact with the machine it gets sticked to the machine. The machine extracts the sticked mosquitoes to another space within the machine, just like a vacuum cleaner and these mosquitoes gets trapped in this space and gets killed. The machine works with the help of battery.

As our product is a niche product and takes only one time investment we are planning to keep our price high.
Place
We are planning to make our product available on all retail outlets like Super markets and hyper markets. We are planning to start online delivery through amazon and flipcart.
Promotion
We are planning to promote our product through Social media by conducting a Demo of working of the machine. The video is uploaded to different social media sites including YouTube Facebook etc.
Planning to introduce our product through TV serials and Movie Scenes so as to get wide reach.
SWOT Analysis
Strength: New product with USP. The customer will be eager to try a new product
Weaknesses: High price, limited penetrating to rural market, which can be an important market
Opportunity: Customer’s preferences towards eco-friendly products, too much importance given to health and safety aspects on the basis of disease prevention program. Tie up with hotel chains.
