What personality traits do you think one needs to treat someone who has a sexual dysfunction?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Sexual dysfunction can be described as any hindrance during the sexual response cycle which inhibits a person or a couple on the whole from experiencing sexual satisfaction. The sexual response cycle includes four stages; excitement, plateau, orgasm and resolution. Sexual dysfunction has a deep rooted cause in one's childhood. Childhood experiences play a very important role, in the development of an individual's adult personality. A person who has been through any kind of sexual assault, harassment or rape during their growing years, resists having any sexual pleasure. Personality trait cannot be treated. However, cognitive behavioural therapy will help them to change their thoughts and feelings. It will help them ease their pain. The brain is the most erogenous organ. If one's thoughts are aligned and are more positive, they are likely to achieve sexual satisfaction without inhibitions.
