Sustaining change after intervention literally refers to sticking to the changes that are introduced so that the work methods, jobs, tasks and way of performing activities are adjusted and accomodated to these changes and old way of doing is altogether given up.
Dangers of sustaining change :
Sustaining change in dynamic and ever changing world can prove dangerous and detrimental for business because by sustaining change the workforce and organization attains specialisation turning these new working methods as routine and habit. So Unfreezing these habits later when environment demands new changes can become difficult and result in organization facing resistance.

The mechanism to sustain change involves frequent training programs, continuous monitoring of work methods, putting control boards at place, and keeping constant supervision at place which will help in removing hurdles in sustaining process and will focus on supporting individuals in acquiring to the new changes. Some techniques used are :
1) Periodic team meetings, : Organised every week or month to discuss the issues in adopting to changes and addressing such issues by communicating with team.
2) .- organization sensing meeting.-
The meeting which aims to develop persistence for change among members through changing perspectives nad making them sense change as an ongoing process rather than a discrete event.
3 Periodic intergroup meeting .-
The interpersonal communication taking place within team members of group at specific or predetermined dates to discuss issues and suggest solutions.
4 Renewal conferences :-
Recurring conferences taking place to stay in touch, discuss improvements, revising the present
5) Goal-directed performance review :-
The method which aims to evaluate and investigate the performance outcome of team members in comparison to the goals.
6) Periodic visits from outside consultant :-
The consultant who is mostly specialist and external to organisation is hired to visit periodically in order to see and investigate the degree to which change has implemented successfully.
