Describe how typical RESTful services respond to requests.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Typical RESTful services respond to requests as given below :

  1. a.Request Authentication:
    • When the request arrives at the RESTful services, they are first checked for the request authenticity i.e to check whether they are coming to form the authentic web Client or not.
    • If the request does not form authentic web client t, then request is reject otherwise it is sent to the server for future processing.
  1. b.Status Code Generation:
  • After request authentication, the status code is generated for the request which comes in five categories.
  1. c.Method Detection and Response Generation
    • At the client-side, the request is sent either using post or get method most of the time.
    • When the information sent to the server is not sensitive, then the get method is used. In this step, the used method by the client is detected.
    • The request is then forwarded to the database which contains the requested item.
    • The RESTful servers accept the data from the databases and finally send the response to the web client based on its request.
