Cloud Computing

  Cloud Computing can be defined as the practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer.

1. Software as a service (Saas)
2. Platform as a service (PaaS)
3. Infrastructure as a service (IaaS)
4. Anything as a service (XaaS)
These are sometimes called the cloud computing stack, because they are build on top of one another. Knowing what they are and how they are different, makes it easier to accomplish your goals.

Some of the cloud based service or app that we use are :

(a) Amazon Web Service

Amazon Web Services is a subsidiary of Amazon providing on-demand cloud computing platforms and APIs to individuals, companies, and governments, on a metered pay-as-you-go basis.

(b) Windows Azure

Microsoft Azure, commonly referred to as Azure, is a cloud computing service created by Microsoft for building, testing, deploying, and managing applications and services through Microsoft-managed data centers.

(c) Google App Engine

Google App Engine is a Platform as a Service and cloud computing platform for developing and hosting web applications in Google-managed data centers. Applications are sandboxed and run across multiple servers.

(d) IBM Smartcloud

The IBM SmartCloud brand includes infrastructure as a service, software as a service and platform as a service offered through public, private and hybrid cloud .

The Service benefits are very high.As the usage of the technology increases, the requirement for large amount of storage space is also high.So as an alternate method, external storage is always prescribed. Almost 90 percent of the tech users are using the private cloud space which allows the user to store the datas to the cloud and it can be retrived when needed.The cloud space will be owned by individual or a private firm.
