Define cleavage and describe how it differentiate from typical cell division.
Cleavage is the successful repeated division of the single celled zygote to give rise to group of smaller cells . A cleavage in which the entire egg gets divided in to equally sized blastomeres is called simple holoblastic cleavage or partial cleavage called meroblastic cleavage.. The division line or furrows of cleavage are called cleavage planes. cells derived from cleavage are called blastomeres and form a compact mass called the morula. cleavage ends with the formation of blastula.
