Does pluralist theory or power elite theory provides a better understanding of politics in the U.S.? (Must be 150 words or more)

Pluralist theory of power refers to a concept in which political power is distributed in many hands and not with certain individuals or group. This would mean that everyone in the society has an opportunity to gain power irrespective of race, religion, culture, socio-economic status etc. power elite theory suggests that the society and politics are controlled by the power elites in the society which would mean majority of the people, especially the minority groups wouldn’t be able to progress in politics. In my opinion, the power elite theory provides a better view in understanding the US politics as it is dominated by the power elites. These power elites are wealthy people in the society who control most of the wealth and using their wealth they accumulate more power. When they get to power, they formulate policies that would help them accumulate more wealth and would benefit the majority white population who in return would vote for them.
