In: Operations Management
Consider the seven management pioneers and their theories and approaches. Of these pioneers, whose approach do you believe seems most lacking - and might be most needed - in business today, based on your experience in the workplace or dealing with businesses?
Pioneer of management
FW Taylor for scientific management,
HL Gantt for Balance Sheet Chart of Gantt Chart
H Emerson Philosophy of efficiency
HB Gilbreth for Philosophy of motion study
Many Parker Foyllet for the Law of situation
Henri Fayol for the process of management
Gorge Elton Mayo for Human and social factors in industrial
relations.
Taylor’s scientific management is well described for the concern
and focus of the model of management process laying that helps the
overall efficiency of the business. The concerns of the management
and the focus are well justified to make the managers keep up the
flow based on the focus. The theory lays the starting point,
emphasis, and expression of scientific management in each of its
steps.
However, the HL Gantt’s balance sheet chart of Gantt chart is a
tool that is not very effective to take in tasks and the people who
are responsible for doing them together in the expression of it.
The chart is a list of tasks with time which don’t categorically
suggest to someone from outside getting that is responsible for
which job in the entire sheet. This is a shortcoming which the
Gantt charts have and mitigate for the best of workplace
dealing.
