different management approaches to planning?
There are mainly three approaches to the planning:-
1:- Top-down approach:- it is also known as stepwise design, breakdown. The top-down approach means all the directions are provided to the lower management by the top managers. The objectives are established by the top management along with the information, plan and fund processes. The lower management has to execute the planning developed by the top management There is a greater chance of failure in this type of planning method. It results in bottlenecks and decreased productivity
2:- Bottom-up approach:- In this method, the planning is made by the lower level of managers and it is being communicated to the top managers. Team members are asked to be involved in each step of planning thus the decision is taken by the whole team. Different types of milestones and values can be communicated The team members are asked to develop their personal to-do list so that the required milestones can be accomplished.
3:- Mixed strategy:- This is the combination of two above stated methods. The planning is done by having a proper coordination and communication between the top and lower level of management.
