Explain the impact of school, work/career and religious organizations have on Middle Adulthood.
One of the most important yet influential time period in human development is middle adulthood. This is because of the fact that people would be balancing their personal, professional and social life like handling a two-edged sword. Many would have formed a family, raise children, take care of the elderly parents, would be at the peak of their career and engage in social and religious institutions. This would mean that professional stress, familial responsibilities, relationship issues, declining health, urge to affiliate oneself with religious and social organizations would make be on their toes all the time. Financial struggles would come to the surface and workplace competition would make one spend more time with the work thus taking a dip in one’s personal life and quality time with the family. However, it would all depend on how well one had prepared oneself to this stage from the previous stages because those who view life positively would prepare themselves to face the reality by developing positive coping strategies while those who struggle to develop a positive worldview and attitude may develop negative coping strategies thus would get disappointed.
