Mentors are the most important skilled persons in any organization where the organization has great trust. They are also considered as subject matter experts in that particular process or project. A mentoring program always need mentors who can guide a program after or within the training sessions to make a mentee clear on the particular process or project. Sometimes the training sessions are also conducted if there is non-availability of trainer. A mentor is like an advisor, guider, motivator and supporter that helps their colleagues or mentee.

Recruitment and Selection Strategy for selecting the mentors and mentee for mentoring a program:

Mentors:

· Identify the main purpose of the program needs and requirements for selecting the mentor. Even the objective of the program is also informed to identify the right mentor

· Inform the particular team or project for the program needs so that they come forward for registrations. To get the people those are interested for the mentoring role

· Estimate how many mentors are required to mentor in the program and mentee number. So that how many mentors are required for a set of mentees

· Conduct an assessment by including program specific questions to avoid huge crowd and identify the correct resource

· For better resource, approach leads and managers for skilled mentors

· After assessment, select the top candidates and send for further assessment like communication, interaction, involvement and decision making skills

· Select the final candidate who can pass in all the assessments and monitor for few weeks about his/her mentoring skills

Mentee:

A mentee is one who need a mentor to guide, advise and train to be perfect in the program. As mentor are selected based on the skills even the mentee is also selected in the same manner with little changes.

· A mentee is also identified and selected as per the program objective, need and requirement

· There are specific mentee’s who don’t need much training and mentoring such mentee’s identification is important to complete the given program with in a given time

· Especially, we can call these mentees are capable and absorb mentor information in a very short time

· Inform the program needs and approach leads and managers to identify these mentees

· Select with simple assessment to identify their absorbing skills and learning ability

· Analyse the productive and quality metrics of previous program to judge the capability of the candidates
