Expert Solution

As a marketing manager, I need to think beyond motivation through incentives such as cash which may work for them. Proper motivation is needed as it would help to track the KPIs. Most of the employees are given extrinsic motivations such as incentives, bonuses, etc. as it is much easier for the employers but there are other motivators too that can help to work hard and succeed. In sales department, commissions and quotas are the most common motivators given to the sales representatives. Some of the motivation I may use is to maintain a good work environment, maintain a good rapport with the sales teams, communicate with them the company's goals properly so that they would understand, etc. Appreciation and praise would also work very well when they achieve their target. This would increase the company's profitability as employees are much satisfied with their jobs and employees are closer to their own sales goals.

Hope this helps :)
