Busines culture of Apple: Using Schein’s 3 layers, describe the culture. Using Cameron & Quinn’s Typology identify the type of culture. Is this suitable? What recommendations can you provide?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Culture of Apple is described below using the Schein’s 3 layers:

- First is the behaviour and artifacts which is clearly reflected in the culture of Apple that they strive to manufacture the best product and also the spirit of team work is what has made them such a successful organisation.

- Espoused values are organisation’s predefined and well written values using which the organisation grows and achieves greater heights. For Apple they are diversity which is visible in its workforce and also accessibility of the greatest technology to every citizen.

- Basic assumptions which means that the employee would work to the best of his/her potential to achieve the predefined target and also the integrity is a major part.

Cameron & Quinn’s Typology focusses on collaborate, create, control and compete so the culture of Apple to work together in an integrated manner, constantly improving the skills and knowledge and also delivering world class products is something which is very suitable for Apple. The only recommendation that I would provide is that if they can make price as well as a part of culture and ensures that a little lesser price is charged form the customers.
