1.Education of the mothers- Educating the mothers about the benefits of breastfeeding is one of the intervention that be given to improve the maternal outcomes. Most of the young mothers are unaware about the positive outcomes of breastfeeding like reducing the chances of breast cancer, ovarian cancer and also helps in reversing the metabolic changes that comes along with pregancy. Educating them will help they to initial and sustain the breastfeeding for a much longer time thus improving the materna as well as newborn outcomes.

2.Breast feeding at workplace- exclusive breastfeeding for a minimum of six month is recommended. Most of the mothers are working lady, in order to balance work life and achieving the goal of breastfeeding it is important that the work place should be flexible to provide time for breastfeeding, a private space for breastfeeding or to expressed the breast milk, extended leave an the workplace should also be able to offer a child care facility in or near the workplace.

3.Peer interaction/support: sharing of ideas , problems, knowledge, experiences , practices with the peer who is conceving or breastfeeding at the same time or before is helpful in providing positivie attitude towards breastfeeding , support and ecouragement. support can be in a form of counselling, discussion , emotional support , assist in problem solving . To provide peer support one must undergo training for better knowleged , skills and best support.
