Millenials are born between 1977 and 1992, make 22% of the US population. They have a spending power of $ 170 BILLION and are growing. Taking them as your market segment you have to consider the following parameters for designing restaurant, experience and the menu:

  1. Global in approach and they are internet users and need 24/7 services
  2. They require customized services and menu options
  3. They are looking for tailor-made options and something new all the time.

Menu Design should include the following:

  • Online availability
  • Online ordering
  • Flexibility of ingredients
  • Have variants with a global touch
  • Snacking options
  • The visual appeal
  • The versatile taste
  • Cost effective and value for money

To give a perfect dining experience to match the Millennial you should include the following:

  • The technological connect is required to invite them to your restaurant by appealing visually to them through social media networks or chat forums.
  • The restaurants should have a seamless app indicating all details, like the dining experience, promised, menu, offers, home delivery. It should be easy to use and meet the expectations.
  • The restaurant should be promoted effectively to meet the millennial image of a happening place. It should be peppy and have a lot of visual images which match images indicated on the app or promotions.
  • The option of making your own burger, design your own pizza etc should be part of the business plan.
  • It should incorporate a global image and advertise it to allow people from diverse nationalities and backgrounds.

To sum it up the millennial have the financial power to make informed buying decisions and use a lot of internets to search various options in all products before making a decision. Unlike earlier customers, they are not satisfied by what a restaurant can offer but expect excellent customer service, value for money and deliverables.
