Non-verbal behavior includes overall body language, appearance, and posture as a form of communication with others. It is an unwritten or unspoken message that uses body language. In a situation involving the use of oral communication nonverbal signs play an important role. An individual's voice tone may communicate a non-verbal message to another. In the workplace, people interact with each other throughout the day using verbal and non-verbal communication.

Examples of non-verbal communication include nodding head, facial expressions eye contact, postures, what you wear, and how you wear your clothes.

Effective communication is important in the workplace. In some cases, the manager's attitude is mostly communicated by non-verbal messages, it may produce positive or negative attitudes by employees, this can affect their attitudes and emotions when performing job duties and either raise or low employee morale.
