Discuss the issue of discrimination in the workplace. Fifty years after the Civil Rights Act of 1964, there remain great imbalances regarding jobs, pay, and opportunity for women and minorities. What positive measures might we adopt to reduce those imbalances? Is diversity in the workforce something that would benefit employers? If so, is affirmative action a good way of achieving that goal?
Discrimination in the workplace happens when an employee is discriminated against on the basis of some number of factors. In addition to the aforementioned factors, workers and work applicants may also be discriminated against due to disability, genetic details, pregnancy or their relationship with another person.
Age discrimination is a practice which is expressly prohibited by law. For a few unusual exceptions, employers are discouraged from stipulating an age requirement in work ads. Employees must receive the same benefits irrespective of age, the only difference being that the cost of offering extra benefits for young employees is the same as offering reduced benefits for older staff. This is also unethical to discriminate against age in apprenticeship programs, or internship opportunities.
It is illegal for employers to discriminate on the basis of religious practices of an person. Businesses are allowed to allow fair accommodation of the religious views of an employee, as long as it does not have undue negative effects on the employer.
Concentrate on Diversity. Creating a diverse place of work. Make
sure your place of work is ethnically and culturally diverse.
Reflecting today's society's diverse population will help you
represent your consumers, partners or patients better. Ensure all
workers are heard and represented fairly.
Educate . Provide guidance on diversity and inclusion for staff.
It's crucial that all workers know what racial discrimination
constitutes. It can be anything from a race-based critique to a
missed promotion. It's also crucial to avoid prejudice and racial
discrimination by fostering respect and inclusion as values of
organization.

Employees from diverse backgrounds are putting together a range of ideas on how to accomplish a shared goal. As more diverse ideas are suggested, the chances of finding a workable answer are improved.
