Yes , use of social media for recruitment is an effective approach to recruit workers. Social media gives information about the person's background and interests. It can give information about the personal and professional background. Thus, social media is effective for screening the deserving candidate. It will help to assess if the candidate will be a good fit for the job or is willing to change jobs. Social media platforms like LinkedIn are for professional purpose including jobs and give opportunity to employers to communicate directly with candidates after finding their profiles online.
As a manager for hiring additional candidates through social media, I will approach candidates through various approaches like posting on company's social media page and giving advertisements on social media for hiring of candidates. I will use platform that are mostly accessed by the prospective candidates and post the job requirements on those platforms and channels to spread awareness about the vacancies and get leads to contact candidates or encourage them to apply.
