As a student first form a group or a team and be the leader of
that group. Inform them what is your idea and take others feedback
as well. Being a part of Union approach to your Dean and inform
your concerns and the solutions you have in your mind.
If no action is being taken from the college side then you as a
leader can take up the charge of doing certain things like-
1. Analyse the menu of your canteen and list out the items that you
require. Ask your cafeterias in-charge to incorporate those ideas
and if it is not feasible then what are the material or tools
required.
2. Talk to the outside vendors, chefs who are ready to work in your
college cafeteria. Give them attractive proposals by telling them
the prospects consumers and sales revenue they would be
earning.
3. Start a campaign where you collect the funds from student
association in order to renovate your cafeteria and give a new look
to your college canteen. These funds will help you to even procure
more raw materials and kitchen tools required for your
cafeteria.
4. Take the help of your Arts club to give a fresh look to your
canteen and menu so that it becomes attractive for the
students.
5. Involve dramatics club of the college to showcase their talents
or small events to make your cafeteria the most happening place of
the college.
6. You can also try out the franchises and talk to your college
authorities for the same.
7. Initial days go for a free sampling of food which gathers the
crowd.
8. Put the updated things about your canteen through posters and
notice board.
9. Make a team which procure the raw materials at a lesser cost or
find a supplier who supplies at lest cost to the canteen in order
to reduce the prices of the food items.
10. Give the incentive of higher sales in the evening to the
cafeteria incharge which forces him to work for prolonged hours. Or
you may help him by providing a person who can take care of the
cafeterial in the second shift,
