I need a 6-7 min persuasive speech about the negative effects of pollution today
Greenhouse gasses, such as fossil fuels emitted by cars and factories, and methane emitted from animals, contribute to air pollution and lead to climate change by increasing the temperature on earth. A certain form of air pollution then gets worse in a vicious cycle, climate change. A reaction between combustion of fossil fuel pollution and sunlight produces smog, a yellowish or blackish fog also known as ground level ozone. Climate change also generates more allergic air pollutants, such as mold caused by humid conditions and pollen caused by a longer pollen season and increased pollen production.
Soil pollution, most commonly from industrial sources, deforestation and inadequate disposal of waste put animals and plants at risk. Soil polluted with chemicals ultimately becomes infertile and incapable of sustaining crops and other plant life. That hinders the production of food and can lead to malnutrition in local communities. When infected food is created by soil contaminants, anyone who consumes it may become ill. Toxic soil may also cause illness by contact with the skin or by inhalation.
.Native plant and animal species are threatened by toxins in water from garbage, oil spills, sewage spills and run-off from farm fields, construction sites and factories. Drinking polluted water from overflowing sewage can cause human sickness and digestive problems. Pollutants such as mercury in fish and seafood can lead to severe health problems, particularly in pregnant women and children.
Noise pollution may cause stress, anxiety, headache, irritability, loss of hearing and lack of sleep resulting in reduced productivity. Oil drills, submarines and other vessels on and in the ocean may cause excessive noise that has resulted in marine animals, especially whales, being injured or killed. Too much light causes pressure and discomfort to the skin, harming our vision and diminishing our quality of life. Light pollution also causes the hormone melatonin to decrease which helps us fall asleep, resulting in restlessness and fatigue.
