Kanban card is the visual representation of a chain of working items. Kanban cards represent a chain of items that demonstrate the pending tasks and tasks in progress. Each unfinished task represents a single Kanban card. The ultimate objective of the Kanban card is to visualize every single task activity that helps the working groups to get a clear picture of the overall progression of the task.
Following are the ways that a Kanban card works:
• Kanban card works as an information hub that supplies a description regarding the pending tasks
• Kanban cards reduce the requirements for the actual meeting
• Kanban cards enhance the transparency of the working process by demonstrating a brief about the task in progress
The elements that are required to be included in the task are as follows:
• The task description, title, and assigner should be included at the front side of the Kanban card
• Valuable metrics should be included at the backside of a Kanban card
• Configuration details should be included in the Kanban card that contains useful information about the task details
The most significant difference between Kanban cards and 5s is their uses. Kanban uses performance metrics and working metrics as a parameter while 5s emphasizes on the organizational means instead of task means.
