1. How is se-xual dysfunction defined in the DSM-5?

Se-xual dysfunctions in the dsm 5 include a number of different categories, in which a person would be feeling distress along with interpersonal strain for at least 6 months. Se-xual dysfunctions would be having profound impacts on the quality of se-xual life of a person. In this term, there would be only physical se-xual dysfunction. Paraphilias would also be integrated in this term. There are four categories: which include desire disorders, orgasm disorders, arousal disorders as well as pain disorders.

  • Se-xual desire disorders: in this there would be an increase in libido along with an absence of se-xual activities as well as se-xual fantasies.
  • Se-xual arousal disorders: these were also known as impotence in the men and frigidity in the women,l now, impotence is referred to as erectile dysfunctions
  • Se-xual pain disorders: these would be affecting both men as well as women, where, it would be referred to as dyspareunia in which there would painful intercourse of vaginismus in which there would be involuntary spasms that would be interfering with intercourse.
  • Post orgasmic diseases: when there would be symptoms caused either after ejaculation as well as orgasm.
