Because of Civil engineering field we can construct a tall building, skyscraper which is itself symbol of smart city.

For smart city we required some digital platform , IT hubs, Big Factories etc civil engineering give idea along with town planner how to develope these infrastructure in effective manner.

Smart city also include comfortable living space , transportation facilities, health care centers.these all could possible in any city with great constructing effort taken by civil engineering.

Smart city also include energy efficient , smart structures , good quality road within economical boundaries which is only possible with well developed civil engineering culture in perticular city.

These all requirements mentioned above make a ordinary city become a smart city which only comes in reality with good civil engineering practices , thats why civil engineering is important part of smart city.
