Without the internet you couldn't: order online presents, buy a DVD cheaper than it's sold in physical stores, buy a book and start reading it in seconds, or order takeaway food without talking to someone on the other end of the phone The internet allowed business owners to escape the risk and cost of owning a physical shop. In comparison, a website is cheaper, and allows businesses to reach more people. Physical shops are geographically limited, but you can meet and sell people across the globe on the internet. In addition, enquiries may be offered or obtained 24/7.
Online advertising is no longer restricted to search engines and websites Businesses can now target and retarget their audience with advertisements based on their demographics, websites they've been to, things they've been looking for, and more.
Social networking is a more way for companies to meet, aim and communicate with their customers. It's another way to inspire your customers to visit your website, as well as helping companies to connect with their customers. Businesses can also use social media as a method of customer service, meaning they can quickly address and solve problems without having to send an email or make a phone call. As well as helping individual customers with their problem, if they manage it especially well, it can also make the firm look good.
One of the best things about using the internet for marketing is that you can track your activities almost always and ask yourself 'so what? 'This means companies can quickly distinguish which practices perform well, which ones aren't, which will help them to learn about their customers and appeal to them. The internet has changed marketing, how businesses sell, and how people buy hugely, and that's still going on. Successful businesses will be the ones who are keeping up with the way customers shop.
