Choose one of the major types of bailment commercial proprietors (innkeepers, carriers, or warehousers). Explain the law surrounding that proprietor, according to the book, and the basic service they provide. Then, imagine you are an attorney asked to advise at the formation of one of these businesses. What advice do you provide them to make sure they are within the law? Find examples from the Internet to support your recommendations.
An innkeeper is a individual who, as a regular business, provides accommodation for guests in exchange for a reasonable price.
.The laws surrounding the proprietor of inn are,
a) He is bound to take and receive all the travelers, entertain them for a reasonable compensation
b) He must guard the goods of the travelers.
c) He is bound to pay the traveler if the goods is stolen.
d) He is responsible for the acts of his domestic servants, as well as for the acts of the other guests.
e) The innkeeper will be excused whenever the loss of guests goods has occurred, because of the fault of the guest.
f) The inn keeper is entitled to a just compensation for the care and trouble in taking care of the guest.
g) A keeper must accept all unobjectionable individuals who offer themselves as guests.
I as an attorney would give the following advice,
a) The inn should comply with the 'federal occupational safety and health act (OSHA). A safe working environment should be provided for workers.
b) Laws related to Building permits and construction should be strictly adhered to.
c) Real estate leases and contracts should be followed.
d) The civil action innkeeper rights should be properly read to understand the rights of an innkeeper.
e) The guest/tenant relationship law should be studied.
f) It is important that all employees should be well versed in the fire regulation law.
g) Common laws should be followed when accommodating guest in the inn.
