CHALLENGES FACED IN OMAN :

• Water footprints in relation to gross national income , countries overall national income also gets affected by the water footprints . As the demand of goods and services increases and to fullfill that demand the country need to increase their import and which would lead to the more investment of the capital . Therefore its very important to tell people how to use water efficently .
• Factors which decide the  per capita water footprint of a country are , agricultural practice , climatic condition of that area , consumptions habits of the people living in the country , and the average per capita demand of an individual . So as to determine the gross national income of every country .
• Due to extensive use of groundwater in oman , their water table has gone down . Which affects their sea water quality as well . Therefore they tend to import various water resources from other countries .
• Their was an increase in domestic water supply demand which lead to the low amount of conservation measures ,which lead to the increase in the amount of water supply .
• This is caused by the lack of public awarness and education about this , to tackle this issue various NGOs started campaign , government also issued various tv ads and radio shows etc for educating the people .
• Alternative sources of water should also be looked after , so as to compensate the demand of the people , incase of low water services so as to decrease the imports and increase the national capital .
• They have launched various recommendation groups and divide the people on the basis of their need , which brings about the change in the quality of injected water . Because the collection of treated water was at the peak of their list .
• Various Water management plans have been adopted which made the use of IWRM that is Integrated Water Resource Management rules and guidelines mandatory for all .
• All the industries have been taught the use of renewable sources or energy so as to avoid this problem and reduce this shortage .
