Why do companies fall short when trying to encourage collaboration through internal crowdsourcing? More specifically why do you think they do not do a better job of telling the employees what happened to their ideas?
Organisations when gains the knowledge from the inside sources like the employees for its idea generation campaigns have a lot of troubles to be faced when they have to deal with the employees regarding the crowdsourcing session. The most viable issue that is prevelant in the organisations that they do not perform a good job by telling the employees what happend with their ideas is only because of their motivational and leadership factor. When you ask employees to deliver and present creative ideas for the solutions, the organisation selects only one or max two ideas out of many alternatives. But what about the other ideas they don't select or the employees who ask what happened to their ideas. Organisation can't communicate to their employees that their idea got rejected because of the lack of structure or anything. That would reduce the morale of the employee working and wouldn't take the initiative next time to present the idea. Thus, this is one of the major problems faced.
