Some examples of leadership team activity:
- Snakes: The whole team is blind folded, except the captain. The
team needs to form a queue with the captain at the back. The team
needs to traverse a passage made by the instructor, blind folded.
The caption or the leader can lead the team from the back. However
the captain cannot speak but will have to use non-verbal
communication to guide his team.
- Longest newspaper bridge: the teams will be given newspaper,
cello tape and scissors. With the help of these resources, they
need to build the longest bridge. The bridge must qualify certain
criteria:
- Bridge must be 5 inches above the surface (height)
- Bridge must have a slope
- Bridge must be attractive and stable
Instructor can observe the individuals in team who take up
charge and behave as leader
- Survival simulation games: These games can be given and the
instructor or observers need to observe the team interaction to
identify the different types of leaders in the team. There can be a
problem solver leader, an analytical leader, a dictator or a one
giving direction to the team.
