My manager at Cognizant was excellent in his role. He always had a solution for all the project related problems and he was also very friendly in nature. He responded quickly when we needed help from him and he also made sure that the team works well together as a team. He took us out frequently on team outings and made us feel very comfortable in his team. But he was not a good leader and it was very evident from the time we started working with him. He was only good completing the job assigned to him and he never bothered to take the initiative to try something new or even encourage his team members to think out of the box. He found satisfaction in getting the appreciation and was never ready to take a risk and achieve something more than expected by the company. He never questioned anyone even when he felt something was wrong. We also did not feel like following him and do things in his way. He was very laid back and easy going person without a firm mind. We did not feel that we have to try something new and show the company what we are capable of doing. We just stuck to the normal work and delivered it on time. My manager did not have any intentions of climbing up the ladder as well and he was happy in his position.
