Answer: Firstly culture means "the way of life" by group of people belonging to particular geographical location. When the colonial era started way back in 15-16th century and reached at its peak in 19th century, during this time life of people in colonial countries has changed in many ways.

Their traditions, customs, areas related to education, social, political and economic as well , inherited many characters from the colonial powers which were ruling them.Such changed form is regarded as the colonial culture.

Note: I'm here taking example of India and Srilanka , which were colonies of United Kingdom.

Colonial culture and its various elements impacted the colonized country in many ways:

1.It influenced political culture of the country , in such a ways even when these countries got independence, still they left with COLONIAL LEGACY.

India's Constitution adopted many of things given in GOI act 1935,which were introduced by Britishers like System of parliamentary government,Functioning of various organs of government.

2 Its influences also can be seen in the ways Bureaucrats work in the country.Even civil services regareded as the legacy of Britishers.

3.Economic systems also influenced as various revenue systems were introduced although they got abolished as they were derogatory in nature , still they made inequalities prevalent in the colonies social fabric.

4.Colonial powers also influenced the education system of the countries, and they left their legacy. Many practices introduced by them still is on going.

5.They also influenced and in turn get influenced by the various festivals that were used to performed.

6.Uniform laws irrespective of community were introduced like Criminal codes, Penal codes , civilsl codes .Still on going with ceratin modifications.

Hence As the culture means "the wayof life " means the social, political and cultural all the spheres.Colonial powers left many things even after they left the country and took with them many things tangible or intangible even if they left the country.

Hope it hels!
